What to expect

Initial Consultation:

During your initial consultation we will ask you about your symptoms, medical background and lifestyle.  The chiropractor will perform a thorough examination including orthopedic, postural and neurological tests as appropriate.  This enables the chiropractor to make an accurate assessment prior to carrying out any chiropractic adjustments.

The chiropractor will not routinely use x-rays. On occasion, your chiropractor may discover an underlying medical condition and, if necessary will refer you to your GP for further investigation.

Your initial consultation and first treatment will typical last between 60 and 90 minutes, further followup treatments typically last between 15 to 30 minutes.

Number of Treatments:

Typically people notice a change in their condition after two to six treatments. These are initially at weekly intervals and then more widely spaced as the adjustments hold and the body responds to treatment. The elderly, or those with more chronic conditions, often require more treatment sessions.

Once the problem has been resolved, regular check-ups are recommended to keep your body functioning well.
